So which shop is better DSI or Pats Driveline? I need the front slip joint replaced and then the driveshaft balanced.
-
ive got stuff from pats but i think DSI is a little cheaper..
-
DSI charged me, I think $300 to redo the splines, shorten, and balance my front shaft.
Pats was about $200-225 just to get it shortened and balanced

I have used DSI a number of times....really good to deal with , always fair. :)

DSI all the way......................awesome and good price too

Well DSI called this afternoon and my driveshaft is ready...... $352.00 OUCH I was hoping for a repair a bit cheaper. They replaced the slip joint, all the u-joints and balanced it. They did not have to change the welded part of the cv joint but they replaced the rest of the parts in the cv. Well That should take care of the vibration in the front end I hope!!!!!!!

He switched to a TJ passenger axle shaft so his fornt driveshaft turns all the time now. Well YJ shafts are not balanced so he was probably getting a vibration.
As for the slip joint, when I had mine done, I was told it is a wear item and needs to be fixed every so often. I never noticed any problems though

Well nothin but good vibrations...... DSI did a good job, cost more than I wanted it to but thats life eh? I will be taking them my rear driveshaft next week to be legnthened. We will see how much that costs me!!!

If nothing else but lengthen and rebalance, should be about $150
