Hello All,
The AURS is looking for a meeting facility (for about 20 people) that can be used on a
Monthly basis at a very minimal cost (or even better, FREE!). As central as possible with good parking availability would be ideal. Maybe there is someone on the forum who works somewhere with a boardroom, or in a hotel or restaurant that might have a room?
The AURS is gearing up for a number of projects this year, and is in need of a place to meet with the people involved and coordinate the work.
If anyone on here can help us out, please call, e-mail or PM me.
Thanks
Chris Pedersen

Chris,
Check out your Local Save On Foods. The one in Lethbridge has a room that would hold closer to 50 and they offer it for free. For something like $8 they will also supply coffee. They will set the room up however we want and they are open until 10pm. I assume they have something similar in Calgary and Edmonton (IF the AURS wanted to do a meeting there).
HTH,
Jeff N

Thanks Jeff - seems that Save On Foods are only in the smaller centres - can't find a listing in the phone book in Calgary.

I know its nowhere near as big as Safeway and Superstore. The store here is pretty big. I guess you learn something new every day. :(

There are 2 in Red Deer, 1 in Lethbridge, 11 in Edmontons, and da da da daaaa. None in Calgary. I guess there must be some big players in Calgary keeping them out.

I believe Save-on is just another part of the whole loblaws, extra foods, superstore conglomerate.
Save-on is just Extra foods for the small towns.

Check out the Austrian Canadian Club. http://www.austrianclub.ca/
They have a boardroom, its off 32nd and Deerfoot. Lots of parking. And should be pretty cheap. Its where we meet afterall!
Good luck!

Sorry, completely wrong as I used to work for Superstore, and Save-On is the anti-Christ to them. :P Extra Foods is the Superstore of small towns.
However, some of the remodelled Superstores might have a conference room. Maybe contact them and see.

I think Brentwood co-op still has a meeting room downstairs.
