well i just picked up my cb and while i was trying to install it, i had the sudden realization that i have no idea what i was doing. i found this out after i had blown up my cd player, well the fuse anyway. so where can i go to get this installed?? i can mount it and everything i just dont want to mess with any electrical unless i really have to?

Unless your CB is way more complicated than mine... It's 2 wires.
One hot.. One ground. I actually ran my hot wire through the firewall directly to my battery (I used an inline fuse of course). So its pretty straight forward.
If I can do it anyone can ;) If you need any specific help/tips/pointers... just let me know. I can even round up SWR to help tune the antenna if necessary.

yep 2 wires. but like i said..... i suck. haha. good old self confidence. well i know i could do it but after blowing the fuse for my cd player i realized that maybe getting someone who knows what they are doing is a better bet the doing it my self.

Mine has 3, but the 3rd is for illumination.
Run the red through the firewall to the battery and make sure there is a fuse, and the black to ground.
How did you hook up the wires before, or is the CD fuse thingy a different story. There should be instructions with the CB if you bought it new

well i had some wires just hanging there with some tape on the ends, i bought my jeep used so the previous owner had taken out the lighter, and some other little things. so i was checking to see what was power and what was ground, but like i said there was a few loss wires, and the first one i checked blew up the fuse in/for my cd player. anyways should i try and run it through my fuse box? or should i just go straight to the battery? there are directions for instal, but they say to hook it up to any 12v connection

Straight to battery with an inline fuse.

run both through the firewall, red straight to the battery and a good ground point for the black (look for other engine ground locations and use one of them).
dunno what jeep you have, mine is a '97 TJ and all the wires for the stereo are labeled. if you look close at the writing on the wires, yours might be too. the lighter wires might be as well.
