Title: Cleaning soft top windows
Post by: SteveO on March 08, 2007, 01:11:08 PM
My windows are a little foggy/hazy from being rolled up and various other things.  How do you clean these things so you can see again?  Thanks. ...Steve

AHHH HAA!!

Now the yota guy wants jeeper help huh?

Just kidding Steve.

I dont remember exactly what they used, but I think it was a soft polishing compound. Then they use one of those polishing grinder units and buffed all the windows.

Saw it on an episode of trucks, they brought some really tarnished, faded YJ's windows back to life.

Maybe you can look that up. Not sure.

good luck  :D  :D

Yes on that episode of trucks they useda power polishing ball.  The FLITZ ball I think.  Not sure what compound they used, I think it was the flitz polishing compound.  I am going to try my windows this year I have a mothers polishing ball and have some polish I am going to try.

good info - I saw the trucks episode also ,  I had withdrawal for awhile with the show after Stacey left but the new guys kinda grew on me with their yj and xj projects ...

my original top had window issues - I tried to keep it alive like getting new zippers sewn in etc but worse the top itself basically rotted along the seams (mildew) and started to unravel everywhere so I finally trashed the whole thing,  got a good replacement from gemini-sales.com in BC ,

if your looking for bikini ($69) to supertops ($699) they got some decent sales on right now ...
