You animal! :D
-
Looks good!
I wonder...
Ok, no flat fenders for me but as soon as I find a cheap set of doors...
-
That's KRAZY man, but it looks good

Lookin' good there Ian :!: :!:

Ya looks good Ian, nice job.

Drive fast enough, and you might get some lift. You might need to compensate with a big wing on the back, put lots of downforce on the back. Plus one of them lp-sized mufflers on the back!
Looks great! Might come in handy when there is no knife around, just use Ian's fenders! :D
Cheers

looks good Ian! You'll be able to slice through a moose pretty easy with those. Do I spy new rubber on your rig? Can it be true?

Hmmmm, flat fender cherokee's I'm gonna think about that for while. Not sure that a ZJ would look too good, but maybe a XJ. Anyone got an XJ we could try it out on? Dom :?:
Greg, no new rubber yet, Soon, maybe.
Hey Chris, you remember that link on 4wheeler a while back, with the cars in Japan? with the big wings. Is that what you're thinking of,

How did it go with the grinder? Any regrets (paint chipping, stuff like that)? Would a grinder be better than a sawzall? I woudn't mind some tips, I have a buddy who's itching to cut into my Jeep when I mentioned rear TJ flares...

I used a 4'' angle grinder with a thin cutoff blade, a small air cutoff tool, a small die grinder for cleaning up. I don't have a sawzall and have never used one on metal. There was minimal chipping, some paint bubbling when I did not move fast enough, from the heat. It was recomended I remove the flares before starting. I didn't. But the melted parts cleaned up fairly well. I figured I would end up repainting eventually.
I was not trying to do a pretty job, even though right now it is a daily driver it will become a strictly off road toy eventually. My plan is to be able to put on 33's with chains with only the 2'' budget boost. And if possible, even removing that to go back to stock ride height. trying to keep suspension etc. as close to stock as possible. maybe a small belly up next.

Ian u can almost just take the fender flares off seing as nearly all of ure tire is inside the fender no need for front flares

nearly Doug, But once I go to rockcrawlers rims (which are offset) and a slightly wider tires 33x12.5? they will stick out aways, I am going to try and keep it as legal as practical for now, then once I figure out the exo- skelteton/cage etc I may remove them.

heres a tip, use a metal blade on a jig saw, take your time and the cut will be perfect. i used 2 strips of masking tape and got a nice consistent, straight line for my fenders

That would be something.... 8) first I would need to put them on before we flatten them out. I kind of lost a few of them on the way up Pretty Rock.
Thanks Ian but I will pass...
