Just wondering how many kilometers people are getting on their jeeps. I've had such crappy mileage for the past 5 months and it seems to be getting worse, that I have forgotten what it was like when I bought the jeep. I think it was around 650km / tank. I have a 2003 Rubicon. In a last ditch attempt to regain better fuel consumption I have tried a fuel system cleaner additive t thefuel and installed a K&N filter. Two tanks of fuel later and I am still only getting about 380 km. From Edmonton to Calgary I use neerly a full tank of fuel. I figure now that it is probably injectors, or a cracked exhaust manifold.
Thanks for any input,
Josh

Dude you drive a Jeep. It is like driving a brick. How fast have you been going on the highway?
All winter in my YJ I have been getting like 300 kms down from about 425km, and I have had everything cleaned on it to improve mileage, but I think it is the winter gas

I'll start this reply with I'm sorry...
800 klm per tank on my Liberty Diesel, sorry for being a smart arse!
-
I wish I had that kind of mialage. on my 02 tj I get about 350km/tank.

Yeah even small lifts and 31" M/Ts with some bumpers and a winch will drop your mileage to crap. On a trip that combines some highway, a day of off roading and some city driving, my mileage varies from 14 - 17 liters per 100 km. My best mileage was 13 l/100 km and my worst was 18 l/100 km.

You do know that an H2 Hummer gets about 16-18L/100KM?
A little Heep gets worse mileage than a Hummer? For shame
-
Well, you have to read carefully, that mileage includes a full day of off-roading and a mix of highway and city driving. Would the Hummer get that mileage if it had to complete the same route? I doubt it!

My YJ wont do much better than 17L/100km on a good day with a 6 in the city. I get about the same as the rest of you , 350-400KM per tank. As for the Hummer, who knows? I certainly wouldn't want to feed one. :)
