I have been working on my cage the last while . It's now all tacked and ready to finish weld. Only thing left is seat mounts, throw the tube in for frame tie in's (plates are bolted both sides of the floor already) and the grab handles from the A to the spreader over the door. The handles should reinforce that joint nicely. Sucks that I ran out of tube today.

Next on the to-do list is the whole rear floor/tank cover/inner fenders. It's all gonna be custom and completely enclosed.
Anything else you need? Anywhere else you need me to post it

Looking really nice!
Whats with the wishbone in front of the windshield? Do a lot of cages collapse there? You planning on adding some controls in that wedge shaped area?
Really nice cage, I too would have thunk that 100' would be more than enough! Whats the spec on your tube?
-
Looks nice man! 100' into that??? You made your own B pillar correct?
-
Mostly the center over the dash V helps with lateral collapse of the A pillars.
Yep, new B in it Joe. Didn't reuse anything from the stock cage.
-
Right on Eric. Looking pretty sharp.
You going to make all your gussets? If not, Evo had some nice ones for 5$ a peice. Nice time savers.
I threw about 8 of them on the CJ sport cage I did. I like em.
-
Don't know if I'm adding any. The bars all gusset each other on this one. Other than the a pillar not having it's handle in yet.
See anywhere that needs more triangulation?
-
Got any tabs for seatbelts Bill? I need some and nowhere in Red Deer has any. I've got enough other little things to do without worrying about cutting out tabs right now.
-
No, I just use old shock bushing, or leaf spring bushing sleeves. Drill and weld through center on the tubing, then bolt them up.
That works.
Tougher if your lower peice is already permanent though.

THANKS !!!!! :!:

Dead post bump... Still one of my favourite TJ's. Is the original build thread still somewhere?
