Hello
If anyone has been wondering where Dave Dunlop (Diamond Dave) has been the last week, he was involved in a motorcycle accident (not his fault) in Alaska last saturday on his riding holiday with friends. He sustained severe leg injuries but is expected to recover fully. He will remain in Alaska for several weeks for various surguries until he is able to travel home. I talk to him daily, and he advised me to write this post on his behalf.
He is in good spirits, and is not really looking forward to the next year of painful recovery and rehabilitation. He is also looking forward to returning home to see his friends and family. His affairs here at home are all taken care of. Dave wishes that his and his families privacy be respected because he needs his rest to help his recovery.
Anyone wishing to express support for Dave, or comment may do so on this post and I will print all of them and mail them to him in Alaska.
PLEASE, I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT PEOPLE DO NOT CONTACT HIM DIRECTLY, HE NEEDS HIS REST. He has received several phone calls all at all hours from understandably concerned friends since this was posted, but he does not ant anymore phone calls right now. Any updates will be posted here.
Thank you to everyone for there support.

i spoke with Dave today. Ever the unselfish person, he was concerned about his inability to represent the 4x4 community in the Land Use Framework. i assured him that it is all being handled and to focus on himself. He already envisions his next ride in the woods. A very good sign for someone with his injuries. He sounds good (under the circumstances) and his Dad will be with him by dinner time tonight.
Our thoughts and prayers are needed. karma, energy, whatever works. Send it his way.

Good news!
Dave had a large team of surgeons operate on him for most of last night and got all of his surgeries completed at once. There was a window of opportunity to get them all done. I believe 8-9 seperate operations were previously scheduled, so they're all done now and he is on the very, very long road to recovery.
No news yet on when he will return home, but hopefuly it will be sooner than expected. Again, please respect his privacy so he can relax and heal.
More updates to follow.
Yours sincerly
