Is there anything special i should know when relocating my alternator in my 89 XJ ?? i'm thinking of taking out the AC and putting the alternator there...good idea? sell premade brackets anywhere? also any good ways to take out AC?
-
you could always look at one at a junk yard that didn't have AC and it would probably have the right brackets too
-
on a 88xj... the only diff in the brackets for ac and non ac models is the compressor is replaced by an idler.
-
On my 90 the brakets are the same.
-
could i just rip out the whole ac setup? and put the alternator in the stock ac spot?
-
You'll need to fab some brackets for mounting it and figure out a different belt routing but it is possible.
