I know we have a couple XJ "experts" here so here is my questions

90 XJ with D35 axle - non c-clip or c-clip?

Probably non....but you can run you're serial # at the dealer and they can tell you for sure.

I have a non c-clip d35 still looking for a home :wink:

I have a '89 that was non and a 1990 that had c-clips.....

From what I could find 1990 was the year they changed to clips.
