Title: Where's the comraderie?
Post by: McClare on September 09, 2007, 04:25:25 PM
I moved here from Nova Scotia and back there anytime jeep drivers passed each other they always waved. I never see it out here and sorta wonder why. I just got my jeep mostly finished so if you see me around town give me a wave. Cheers!

But on another note your jeep looking good, you been wheeling it out here yet?

no not yet. I'd like to try some of the easier paths first because mine wouldn't have the articulation that most of your rigs would. Anywhere you'd recommend for a beginner?

whenever i go past a lifted jeep there's usually a wave or nod of the head, might just be the area i live in though.  gotta be friendly or someone will come steal yer parts.

I'm kind of new to the area myself, well to the offroading part anyways. Just got my jeep up to Calgary a week ago form Nova Scotia , got a little welding to do before i can hit any trails up here due to it sitting for two years  . But I'm not even to sure where any of the trails are up here?

Most the comraderie here is at my garage, specially on saturdays and sundays...lol

But yeah, there are a billion non wheeler jeep street rigs around this city that waveless. But there are lots of us who do wave.

I've been at red lights with 6 jeeps in the first two rows in this town. The number of jeeps here is huge. You really notice it when you go to a different city.

But modded jeeps are few and far between compared to the stockers around.

Welcome to cowtown.

Come to a meeting guys and get to know some club members. We'll get you on good trails.

There are so many Jeep's here , a guys arm could get sore from waving at all of them .

I usually only wave at blue Jeep's , they gotta have mud on em , or dents  ,  at the very least , some scratches.

When I had my CJ, I was constantly waved at and returned in kind, I am thinking it may have been the "old school" look of the CJ that almost all Jeep owners appreciate.

Likewise when I had my ZJ, I never saw one wave with it, but it was also my fault, I never really waved with it, I think it is a CJ/YJ/TJ and the like thing out here.

I always look at other Jeeps and their  drivers, if they're looking, I'll wave, but most don't even look so I'm not wasting my wave on them.

If I see you and your 10 square lights, I'll wave   :D

I always wave to jeeps with mods.  Even the slightest mod I will wave.
I find that from past experiences only the guys with the jeeps turned into rigs will the wave.  The off-roading community is small and we all respect each others stuff and values.  I find that all the guys with rigs built up respect the others move than the guys that drive a stocker around as their Daily Driver.  It's too bad but owell I will continue always to wave at the jeeps as the go by me in an province or country I am in.

I'll wave at the modded jeeps, 'speacially the ones that have CB's or winches. Then i know they are probably not pavement princess's.

Even though some jeeps have winches and antenna and still never go off road. Or maybe once a year.
You know who i mean
