Thats bad..
No lean check im assuming when u got it..
-
the bank suposedly did ... before they put it as colateral for my loan ... they had a typo and checked a vin that was close to mine ... but not the right jeep ...
-
That totally sucks Eric. No sense thinking about what you could have done. Is there any solution to get the vehicle back? Has the repo company given you a price to get it back?
-
yup they have ... just a bit over 6500... right now sounds like either that .. or loosing the jeep and still having to pay the loan i took out
-
Oww...sorry to hear about that.
Hopefully you can get this straightened out...
Good luck.
-

Stock 2003 Rubicons are going for between $24500.00-$28000.00 in the Trader.
I'll let mine go for $22000.00 but am open to offers. I have been going back and forth about whether or not to sell it. But Im going to finish school in the states next semester ....

Since your bank holds the jeep as collateral on your loan will they rewrite the loan and add the $6,500 to get it back. It sucks but may be the best option. It may take time but you may have long term legal options to try to get the $6,500 funds back from the previous owner. If you can find him.

I taked to him a few times. I wheeled with him and some of his friends from Cochrane. He's from the US... I beleive his folks might be from Alaska (really not 100%... just trying to remember some of the conversation I had with him)... He didn't seem like a bad fella... I hope it's a mistake and you'll get your get your heep back. I'll check my PM I might have his cell # in there.... I have pictues of him and red Rubi whne he owed it if you need Eric.
I sent you a PM...
Good luck Eric

That sucks!!!
PM'ed you
Maybe the repo company knows where he is. Since the bank did the lien check and signed off on it, they must have some responsibility to help you with this.

i agree, make it the banks problem!
Scott Walker was the original owner selling it to BGill. Maybe go on 4wheeler.ca asking for Scott to get in touch with you. He lives in Ontario. He may have more contact info for BGill.

This is totally the banks fault. I would be talking to them immediately as they are 100% responsible.
-
After talking to the bank today ... i was explaind by a Royal Bank branch manager that they have no legal resposabilites to do checks on vehicles.. it's for their records only .. so the mistake in vin numbers they had is irellevant... they say they can't do anything for me ... other then the jeep's no longer going to be colateral on my loan agreement. So now i'm going to have to pay the outstanding and find out what i can do legally to keep Brandon resposible for it... along with finding an other bank to switch to as i'm not too impressed with how this was all handled
-
never trust a bank manager. i'd contact a lawyer and i would contact tony tighe global's consumer advocate and Leah Williams-Doherty at CFCN. it wouldn't take much bad publicity to cost the bank more than $6500
-
I don't think the bank to totally clean of this one, probably criminally, but under tort law they are probably liable.
This sucks man
-
well ... after 3 weeks of fighting with the bank (and getting noting resolved)... time was up before the jeep was getting auctioned off ... so after dropping 7300 i was able to go pick up the jeep today in Airdrie. I'm soon starting going thru the process of having an ombudsman investigate RBC's part in all this. I'll also be looking into the better buisness bureau and other things of this sort. Once i get a chance to do a write up on this whole situation i'm going to post it on here for anyone interested in reading about it. I'm going to put a lot of effort in having as much people as i can know about this ... then they can make their own opinion of Royal Bank. .. i'm just happy i can go wheeling this weekend finaly

yay for this weekend, sucks for the rest
yay for stickin' it to RBC, them and TD are probably the big 2 in hell.

ummmm.....just a question, if the bank has the wrong info for the lein check, then do they have the wrong info for the collateral as well?? double-check your paperwork!! I ahd one loan through another bank for a couple of years and they forgot to put a lein on my vehicle. I never knew until i went to sell it and a potential buyer did a lein check and found nothing. also, check with the financve company and find out the date that the lein was put on the jeep......he may ahve borrowed money on it after he sold it to you
