Title: Differential Differences
Post by: Waytec on December 30, 2007, 10:09:51 PM
I went to day to change all the fluids in my Cherokee for the first time since I got it. I felt like an idiot when I was asked what diff I had :-[. Also it donned on me that I do not know how to tell the differences. For those before you say something I am a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, if it is not CAT yellow I don’t know a lot about it . So could some tell me or point me in the right direction on how to identify them.
Thank You :)

It might also be a D35 which has a rubber fill plug and a roundish cover.  The D35 and Chrysler 8.25 look similar but the 8.25 have a flat bottom to the pumpkin.  It will definitely have a D30 front
