I can not believe it; I have been waiting all year for this.
The terrorists have now won, by scaring the organizers and French government.
If I had the chance drive in this one I would not pass it up.

I've watched that race a few times on speed ( the channel ) ... pretty grueling ... not much north american iron if any in it but good to watch ..

guess terrorists dont 4x ...

I've been waiting for this all year as well. Its sad when the "Terrorists Win". Reminds me of CS.

I can say the French are a bunch of sissies, but for them to be dealing with the type of domestic and foreign issues that they currently face. I disagree. So for them to cancel the Dakar, I can hopefully say that the threat was most serious indeed.

But then again, line the route with some Legionnaires, and all should be good, nes pa?

Regardless, terrorists are a bunch of sissies who would rather kill innocent people to achieve their goals, rather than going the diplomatic route and achieving democracy. I give a solid middle finger to them and their ilk.

Otherwise, I was looking forward to Team RedBull and the KTM's, as well as Robby Gordon and Team Hummer.

One day, I'll do it in a Jeep...

The Dakar is truly an amazing event!   For many, if not the majority of the racers I am sure would race regardless!  Even if there were a bunch of Bin Ladens with rocket launchers on each grueling stage ...I would still bet that there are those that would not look back.   My heart goes out to those guys and girls that spend all year to get their rides and rigs up and running for this event ... for some it must be a hard pill to swallow!    If I can say anything ... lets cheer for our soldiers over there ...for they truly are the real champions ...and they just don't get nearly enough credit for their efforts!
