How difficult would it be to convert a 1995 grand Cherokee LTD, 5.2 from a Automatic transmission to a manual transmission? Has any one done this? bad idea? Successful? Regrets? Issues with the PCM? Will it bolt right in?
Just tossing the idea around.
Thanks All!

one of the hardest parts would be finding the clutch pedal assy for the zj... ( manual tranny was behind the 4.0 for 93 and 94 only, i believe, and were few and far between ) unless you had something else planned.

That link is for a 4.0L conversion and will give the info you need on the pedal cluster but for the tranny itself you are going to need to get something from a V8 Dakota or Ram truck. An AX15 will not bolt up to the 5.2l.

buy a TJ, and sell the ZJ to your neighbour ;D he seems to collect them......
seriously though i love the idea of the standard ZJ, time to scour PNP? anyone know what would bolt up for sure?

Any 5spd that came on a similar year Dodge 5.2/5.9. You will need a flywheel from a 5.2L though(balanced differently than a 5.9). Basically you need a case that has the mount for a CPS.
Hmm just thought of something else, most Dodges I've seen have the starter mounted on he driver's side, Jeeps are on the passenger side. Better reasearch that, the engine will phyically bolt to the tranny but if you cann't get the starter on.......

Sorry, missed the 4.0l question.....but there's got to be something you could do with a Dakota like suggested.
