Hello, I just bought an 80 waggy with 96000 km on the clock. Putting in a six inch BJ's all spring lift and have a set of 33 MTZ's for underneath it. Anyone have any good ideas for tow points, especially front at the shackles are mounted right at the front of frame? Any other cool ideas would be appreciated. Cheaper the better! Also bought a sway bar quick disco kit. Gotta wait three weeks for goodies. Sometimes time goes so slow. Also want to mount Hi lift and a shovel to roof rack.

Excellent buy!!
This is my 80... still a work in progress, but I am also going it with a very cheap budget... and with an old school front bumper.

Just drop it so it grinds the ground and put 24s on it. Do the the body work and dont paint it.
This is what one of the guys here in Olds did.
I dont know, I think its supposed to be cool, again I COULD be wrong

Love your waggy, saw at the show and shine last year that bumper is sick! Wanna build me one! Had a grey 89, sadley it died but it is good to have the spare parts. Any good ideas for front tow points? AND thought aboout slaming it and getting some GO-kart tires for mad acceleration but just too much money guess it's gotta growlol ;D

Thanks! It looks way better in person than in that pic... My hubby built it for me at his shop and he should still have the numbers... I could ask him how much to build another one if you want one? We had to put the tow point bolts directly into the frame I believe. We haven't done a rear bumper yet, but it should have the swing-away tire carrier as well when it's done.

Ya find out how much! I would love a bumper like that. Fer toe point I was thinking of welding off the side of frame, then down. Just not sure how strong they would be. All Jeeps are a work in progress. Just Eachand Every Paycheque. Can't wait to wheel.

Ok I found a pic of what we did for tow points... we didn't do them into the frame like I thought, but they were sleeved for double strength if I do remember correctly.... same with the removable winch holder. You can sort of see them here:

Clay said since he already had the prototype (mine) he can build this cheaper for you, for $850. If you wanted it powdercoated or sprayed with liner rather than just sprayed with black paint it would be a little bit extra.... Let me know if you're interested (they would need 1/2 down to cover material costs and the other 1/2 when it's done).

Cool how much if it was just the bumper and not the bush gaurd?
