Title: Open trails in the waiporous area
Post by: jeepjones on February 14, 2008, 04:37:19 AM
Can anyone tell me what trails are open in the waiporous area or show a map of good trails to try? And if possible give a brief description of the difficulty level of the trails?

If you google Ghost Access Management Plan you should find the map, or check on the AURS website

There are not to many trails open to trucks in the area (this will change  ;D).... you have Meadow creek (really easy) , lost knife (stupid easy), The trail to Margaret lake (i've seen a VW Fox there twice... a few hills at the end watch for ice) and a trail partly open to the falls (fairly easy.. watch for ice also). that's it brothah

You have to remember that most trails can turned into a nightmare inthe winter. Be prepared and have fun!

The new Calgary area trail rating system...

Stupid easy through to fairly easy....   ;D :'(

Hey Dom, what happened to that Civic run????  ;)

Anywho...the maps are here: http://www.srd.gov.ab.ca/fieldoffices/southernrockies/ghostwaiparous/brochuremaps.aspx  Printed copies are usually at the information kiosks at the entrance to the area and at the SRD offices.

there are maps located at the Kioks as you go into forest reserve and by the ranger station I think.
I got one from there last summer.  Most of the time they are out but once in a while you get lucky
and run across a stash
