Title: Sandblasting

Anyone try out any of the sandblasters from princess auto? I know more than likly there crap but sometimes there stuff supriseingly works.
But if not wheres the place everyone takes they stuff to get blasted, and anyone have prices per bag/hour??

there was a post on this a while back, 6 months or so.  about the PA blasters and places around town to do it.  search should bring it up.

consolidated compressor has drive up bays,  supply overalls/gloves etc, drive away no mess ...

I use Consolidated too , they are just south of pick yer nose on Barlow , a few blocks and to the left , you can't miss the clouds of toxic dust  and deafaning noise.

Oh , yes , I've got a   one bagger   PA pressure pot sandblaster , it works pretty good . You need some CFM to run it properly , or lot's of time , while waiting for the compressor to catch up . Best used on smaller projects but a  good deal when they are on sale . Avoid the cheesy gravity or siphon feed units , waste of time those ones , about as effective as  filling your mouth with sand , then blowing it through a straw .

Thanks guys, was hoping for something a little closer to the NE but do it yourself sounds cool. Still might try one of the PA guns first

If its a big job go to consolidated. In one hour there last summer I blasted my entire steel utility trailer back to bare metal top and bottom.  It worked great, very powerfull machine.

Thanks for the heads up FiEND,  got lots of stuff big and small so this should be a little easyer on the wallet.

I have the large PA sand blast cabinet.  Leaks sand through the door and at the seams - I would suggest if anyone gets one of these to silicon all the seams during assembly. I modified it to use a shop vac air filter at the rear outlet. Works not too bad.

i have no idea what he charges

he did this for a couple friends on another site

By the sounds of it,.. he does this stuff on the side for pretty cheap

he's hot tanked a few engine blocks and etc for other friends aswell.

i would go over and send him a PM if you wanna know what he'd charge
