Title: Rubicon lockers
Post by: mrjeep4 on February 15, 2008, 10:58:35 AM
My lockers aren't working on my 2003 rubicon ...    they haven't been working since  i took out my transmission to replace my clutch.  The lights on the dash showing that I'm in 4x4 or low 4x4 aren't working either.  I'm thinking this might be the cause that my lockers aren't working because the jeep doesn't know it's in low 4.  I was hoping it was just a connection that was loose or that i forgot to put back on but i have my skid plate off and everything seems to be in place.  If i can't get them working I'm going to try the 4 low  locker bypass I think this might get them working again but I'd rather just fix it  ;D...      Anyone have any ideas ?

i think you are right.  just go over the t-case and make sure everything is plugged in properly.  the connector might be done up but could be dirty, so not making a connection.  try disconnecting them and cleaning.  personally i think doing the 4 low bypass is a good idea anyways.

well after disconnecting and cleaning out everything around the t-case and tranny   the lockers still didn't work ...  i just finished wiring the bypass and a switch for it ...     now with the bypass switch on  the lockers work  in  4 low 4 high and 2 high as long as i engage them under 10 kph .      It's a a very easy mod to do and doesn't take long     here's what i did  http://www.rockcrawler.com/techreports/jeep_rubicon_locker_bypass/index.asp

Oh, I just used the fancy paperclip, to jump together the two points necessary for any tcase position and with the speed limiter still in place.

But bypass switches will work.
You didn't happen to take photo's of the airpump setup underneath? I've got some issues with mine too and I need some pictoral reference.

Cheers
