When I am driving, and I release the gas and depress the clutch, the rpms's either ramp up slightly or stay where they are. And so when I move the stick to the next gear, and engage the clutch, the jeep surges forward.
Now I know my engine compartment is pretty muddy, but I'm wondering if the throttle return spring is clogged with mud. Or is it something else?
Also, my gear shifter seems a little stickier lately. Could that mean there is water in the tranny fluid? Or that there is mud gumming up the linkage?
And likely unrelated to the mud, since I have put the 33's on; at 70 kph I get a pretty good vibration coming thru the steering wheel. It was present a little bit with my 31's, but I shrugged it off to mud in the bead and on the inside of the rim. I guess I should raise the front end, and check all my nuts and bolts to make sure they are all tight.
I also get a pretty good ping from the front control arms when the suspension sinks or stuffs. I should check to make sure those bolts are tight or not bent.
If anyone has any ideas or solutions to these, please put you ideas out.
Cheers
Chris

Sounds like it needs a good cleaning and greasing to start. I power wash my engine compartment after every trip, but yes, MUD IS EVIL.

Get the tires rebalanced and get the beads out of them. I had the same issue with shaking when they were on my XJ.
