You know I ALMOST bought those... had them ordered from Quadratec and I canceled.  I had an Idea... I bought a 6 dollar mountain bike mirror from Canadiantire (square, black) and I use a mounting bolt from the edge of the windshield.  Works great, looks great, cost... great....

i run with windshield down often.
As long as you have unobstructed view out the rear, than a dash mounted rear view mirror will suffice. Better to use side mounted mirrors.

As per http://forum.calgaryjeep.com/index.php?topic=4927.0

And per http://www.qp.gov.ab.ca/documents/Regs/2002_322.cfm?frm_isbn=0779717090 Section 68.
Windshield
68   A motor vehicle, other than a motor cycle or moped, must have a windshield.

Doesn't say that it needs to be up, if collapsable/foldable.
Grey area.

About 3 years ago I rode around for about 3 weeks with the window down, no doors and no problems.

I also had no fender flairs for about 4 years, and never had a problem. I think it come down to how you drive...try not to stick out more then you already do.

picked up some bicycle mirrors from crappy tire for $17. They screw right into the hole on on the sides of the windshield where the bolt goes in to keep it up right. Actually look nice and actually work (to my surprise). Had to do a we bit of bending but theyre good. ;D
