Title: Voiding TC drop in 3" lift
Post by: HeadHunter on April 29, 2008, 03:46:29 PM
I dont want to lost the clearance that you get from a 3" lift by dropping the TC down. That is stupid. I know Rubi's dont have to do this for up to a 4" lift (due to their superior rear D shaft), but can I get away with not doing it in my sahara with only a 3" lift? Or is it mandatory to drop the TC.
I would rather go and purchase a longer CV drive shaft and possibly a SYE even for the 3" lift than drop the TC. Get one to fit up to a 6" lift for a future upgraded lift. Maybe even get a tummy tucker kit as well.

It would be the cat's meow if I could avoid the TC drop without upgrading the drivetrain.

What do you guys think.

I would install the lift and see how it runs first without the t-case drop.  If you do get vibs, you can install adjustable upper control arms to rotate the diff or install a BL with a motor mount lift or go the SYE route

I went with a Slip Yoke Eliminator on my XJ... I know it's not the the same set up at all but it worked awesome for me.

I think it should work good for you with a 3" lift and a drive sharf with a CV joint.

It's definately not cheap though....

check this out.... it might be good for you...
