lots of fuel @ $1.20 a litre.  not so much in 2004 @ $.65 a litre.

they are bricks on wheels, can't expect too much.  gotta drive nice in these thirsty buggers.

After buying an 03 TJ I switched to a K&N filter and E3 spark plugs...... very noticeable improvement in gas mileage(and power) also I have found that running in 5th gear can really hurt  my mileage at speeds above 80Km, if there is a strong head wind(seems like every time I go somewhere in Calgary I am driving into the wind).

I would recommend checking your filter and plugs though.

YJs and TJs are known for their poor mileage.  If you are getting between 15-20 mpgs then your Jeep is right in the middle for gas mileage.  Gas mileage and Jeeps do not belong in the same sentence.

15-20 is but a fantasy for me.  I am lucky to see 13... I'm sure it has nothing to do with the 37's and 4.88 gears tho  ::)

hmmm i average about 9 miles to the gallon if i get my jeep over 100k an hour, might be something to do with having a corvette engine, 3.54 gears and driving a vehicle with the dimensions of a very large toaster
