I broke my key in the drivers side door lock while doing errands, luckily the window was down abit so I could force it down further to turn off lights and unlock door. I took a taxi home to get spare key. I messed up the window while forcing it down, it wouldnt close all the way. I couldnt get the extra 2" for it to completely close up tight. And I forced the window to close with the spinning handle and I completely broke it. Window is now down inside door.
I am sure this is somewhat common. The Jeep will sit there until April 2006. Gas prices and Insurance too high. So its time to start fixing it up.
Next thing is, I am converting to synthetic oil. I know I will have to start it up every now and then to lube the gaskets. What else should I do if Im storing a vehicle? Should I put in some Fuel Stabilizer and/or antifreeze in the gas tank, leave the tank full or somewhat empy?. It wont be outside, its is parked in heated underground parkade.
Several times I looked for manual transmission fill plug but I still cant find it. Its a stock 1993 YJ 4.0L 5 Speed manual. I also want to change the axle oil, what type of oil do I put in. I have been through several windshields in the past while, and I saw a plexi-glass type product in the Quadratech mag. Is this a good idea?
Thanks

Just in regards to the windshield inquiry, i wouldnt bother with a plexiglass (or lexan) windshield. For my YJ it cost me $110 to get my windshield replaced. Cheap cheap if you ask me. Oh, and the axles will take any regular gear oil, as well as your manual transmission. The AX-15 in your 93 should have a fill plug that is skinny, and rounded off. It is a 5\16" square right in the center on the passenger side.
Havnt stored a vehicle like that so i cant give you tips on the gasoline...
Goodluck to ya,

anything i have stored inside i have done this:
Put it up on blocks (or crappy spare tires) to prevent flat spots.
Took the battery out (as you are in heated underground, just disconnect)
Filled gastank full with stabilizer.
i did this with 2 IROC's and one jeep. Never a problem in the Spring. i never started them either.

You do not want a Lexan or Plexiglass window in your Jeep. The ones we use in our stockcar pit and scratch easy, and have to be cleaned/polished with a two step cleaner product. They look good for ten minues, then look like crap. Lexan/plexiglass windows on a street/trail application, like your Jeep, would be a very bad idea. I would highly not recommend it, also, windshield wipers will kill a plastic window.
My two cents.
