Post by: mouth on May 14, 2008, 10:43:20 PM
i have a 92 YJ 2.5 liter and im prety sure the transfer case is screwed, so i was wondering if i can use another on from a 4.2 liter or a 4.0 liter YJ.  any info would help or if someone has one that will work for me that would be cool too!!

thanks

You can use one from a 4>0l, but you'll need a bellhousing from a Dakota for it.  Do a search on Pirate 4x4...it's been done before.

As states above the t-case are all the same but the input shafts are different in terms of length and spline count.  A t-case from a YJ or TJ with a 4 banger and manual will work as well as a t-case of a YJ with a 4.2L manual I believe.
