Title: boosting fuel economy
Post by: big black dodge on June 11, 2008, 04:55:52 PM
Besides the obvious (tire pressures, good tune up, etc), any ideas to boost fuel economy on a carb SBC.  The heep is going to be on the road again, and I am hoping to use it as a daily driver.  Does anyone have experience with swapping 6.2 gm diesels?

6.2 is quite heavy for a Jeep. A well built SBC with EFI could be a really good  way to go. If you want to go the route of a diesel, I would look into the older diesel engines GM used in P/Us and bigger cars in the 70's. I don't know much of them, but IIRC they are based on an Olds 350 converted to diesel.
