I have 6 lights on my 88 Cherokee and zero of them are hooked up I know the positive and negative when hooking them up but nothing else some one told me I could use a relay but I don't know enough about that kind of thing can any one help me out ?

Its a motorcycle article, but its relative. 12v, etc, etc.
Good luck, remember to keep the magic smoke in your lights, wiring, relay and switches. If the smoke gets out, get new parts and keep a fire extinguisher handy.
Wire it all up, and connect your negative side up to the battery first, then connect the positive side.
