Title: shredding belt?

anyone have any ideas why my fan belt would be shredding? it seems like its shredding the belt, i put a brand new one on last night, and today after driving it, its starting to do it again. its on my 93 yj, 2.5L 5spd. p.s but no ac. its going into the shop to get fixed on tues, but i just wanted to see if you guys had any ideas as to why it might be doing that.

misalignment... not correct tension....

thats what i thought...easy enough fix?
