If Rubi was on allowed, marked trails why is he getting such a hassle.......we have been up to waiparous a few times now and have always followed the map with the 4x4 trails marked and follow them to a "T"" and Rubi was on these marked trails as well......there is also a campsite down by the river that the warden's allow camping at, which they patrol more then just a few times in a day........Rubi we are going to the 101 on sunday not sure what the hubby wants to do on saturday will keep in touch.... :-\

Before anyone criticizes someone for not abidding by the bullsh*t rules established by ASRD, they should take a good lo0k in the mirror.  Its often the kettle calling the pot "black".   There are are number of individuals/clubs that covertly run trails that are officially off-limits.   Before you rag on me for this post, it's common knowledge for those in the know.

Darcy, I would take the ridge route to the Top of the World, it's far more interesting/challenging than East Priddis.

Up for a newbie tagging along on Saturday?  Have a 2-door JK with stock tires, but have my CB/winch/straps/shackles/jackall and tow points good to go.  If yeah, leave me the details on where to meet and I'll be there in the morning.

Am itching to get the rig on the trails.

Same.  Was great.  Super pumped to go again.  So many scratches... pin-striping!  Just got it all cleaned up and back home.  Only a couple long nicks down the gas tank skid plate, and a couple little dings on the trackbar.  Alternator still sounding like a supercharger... *cough* warranty....  Fan is good to go.

Big thanks for the radiator assistance and draggin' me through the mud!!

spray out ur alternator   with water have it running when you do it it works most of the time

We dumped a lot of water through his alternator on the trail, but "fresh" water is better :)  I usually run the hose on it for a while to get water in to soften things up before I start it and then run it on the alternator for a while running to wash it out.

If it does go in and they ask about the mud, you drive on dirt roads a lot :D

Mine hasn't been washed that well for a while, it looks like a new jeep <lol>.  Glad we went out and everyone had a great time.  The unexpected mudhole crossing sure added a lot to the trip hehe.

I guess I should figure out how to get the pics off and post from my new camera phone.

Until next time!

Yeah.........I was at it for almost an hour with the pressure washer, and havn't even started the inside yet.
Bikini top and half doors don't do much for keeping out the dust and mud !!! :D

So, I did the thorough cleaning job, and did the alternator too.  But the supercharger sound never went away totally.  Tried to take it to RedDeer today.  Got from Market Mall, to 64 Ave NE and had to pull into Deerfoot Mall.  The alternator gave up the ghost.

The Jeep was pretty much only cranking enough juice just to keep running.  It kicked on all the sensor warning lights (bags, traction control, parking brake, ABS, etc) and then lugged out just as we pulled into the parking lot.  Coasted into a spot and called for a tow through Chrysler (free).  I considered getting it jumped but figured at least if it's towed it won't die on the way.  So right now it's sitting at Crowfoot dodge for them to find on monday.

Bad thing is I need it by Friday to take to BC.  So I'll call them tomorrow and see if they can get it done.  If not, I'll get it towed to my place and I'll do the alternator myself and have the old one re-built if possible.

It's due for it's service and the soft-top zipper is f'd, so maybe they can get that looked after too, but I'd settle for some juice to the battery.

I might take you up on that Waiparous offer for the end of the month Rubi.  I'm thinking either the Sat or Sunday.  Need one day that weekend to get to RedDeer and Help my sister move some furniture.

We'll just have to keep you outta the deep mud stuff until you get some lift and bigger tires !!   ;)
Stick to your guns on the alternator fix.....if they ask about the mud, tells them it's from running a LOT of gravel/dirt trails.
Guess it depends on how good a job you did on the cleaning !!! ::)

I think it might just come down to me going the same nice slow speed you guys were going through the mud and just leaving the strap hooked up one the front.  Then if I get stuck I get stuck.

I'd break open the wallet and get my wheels and tires on order right now, but after a 2 week vacation I'm definitely low on funds.  That first paycheque of $250 when I got back wasn't a big help (one week hold-back + yearly vacation-pay payout).  So even my next one might not even be a full cheque.

Might try and weasle some O.T. and see if I can get our accountant to slid my vacation funds onto my next cheque.  So maybe I can get new meats for the end of the month. :-\
