Hi all,
I've been a member on this website for over 4 years now, and over those years it has been mentioned time and time again that it would be nice to see a group for the Red Deer area....so I finally went ahead and created one. While it is just a website right now, hopefully it will become a matching "sister" club, similar is shape and form to the Calgary and Edmonton Jeep clubs.
www.reddeerjeep.com
It's a work in progress...in other words, this is all I have had time to do since Sunday with Xmas shopping thrown in. I'm running the thing myself, but I'd sure appreciate anyone who could register for the forum and help us kick things off. If you could spread the webname around (www.reddeerjeep.com), that would certainly help us out. Hopefully before I head back to work on the 6th I will have more done to the website and forum. And yes, I am planning a website AND forum, not just a discussion forum.
Thanks to the CJA for letting me post this here, and all their support for my jeep hobby over the past 4 years. Hopefully I can give something back to the community with this site.
Darcy

Pretty impressive gathering last night. I believe around 20 people. The location (which even I encouraged) was a bit disappointing but alternatives are being discussed for next time. I was a bit late as I knew I would be but I like pulling up to so many Jeeps parked everywhere. It always makes me grin like a kid.
-
The location was no one's fault, as when I called the night before to ask for a quiet corner to pull a couple of tables together the manager never mentioned the "Heavy Metal Kazoo" non-entertainment.
You got that right - "Heavy Metal Kazoo" non-entertainment. :o The fun part was apologizing to people about it when they came in, and then the look on their faces everytime these guys got up to do a set and mentioned heavy metal kazoo and people realized it wasn't just a sick joke on my part, but rather the location's sick joke on all of us. ;D
But yeah....15-20 in total, which was a great showing. We're scouting a different location, and I'm hoping to get a club formation meeting going while the momentum is here. Hopefully sometime in the not too distant future there might be a group of Packrats doing trail runs.

Another site to shove in my forum favorites file

Hi all,
We've made a few changes to the site, have a new look, and a new front page. We're even on Facebook now too, hoping to let people know we're around. If you're ever in the area, we'd love to have you stop in for a meeting, trail ride, or just by one of our garages to drink our refreshments and explain to us the mistakes we're making on our build and how you could do it better.
