Title: Out WHIT the old YJ- Brink Fab Build Thread
Post by: Brink on January 01, 2009, 04:00:43 PM
Here's the latest work in the shop.  It's Whit's YJ or what's left of it.  It certainly won't be the same jeep when it goes back out.

Plans include:

Built Currie 9+ rear axle
Built Spidertrax 609 Front
Coilovers all around
Custom long arm suspensions
41" Iroks
18" Poison Spider Aluminum Beadlock Rims
Stretched wheelbase front and rear
Full Hydro Steering with 50deg of turning
Yes...... that said 50 deg of turning
High Clearance front tube fenders
Full Steel Tube Flares
Rockers
Rear corner guards
Crawler Gas tank
Front and rear custom sway-bars
Cage work
Front bumper
Rear bumper with swing out or fold down tire carrier

Plus all the stuff I'm forgetting I'm sure.....

The new work area....much better!!   8)

Crawler tank next to the old tank.  Much smaller to allow the axle to slide back for the rear stretch....

Installed....

This thread is about one I'm building for someone else.  It'll be kinda like mine only a little smaller...and no rear steering etc etc.

Mine is the one in the roll over pics above....the more finished looking jeep  :D

Yep mine was Khaki before.  Kinda grayish I guess

Inboarding the frame end lower mounts as much as I can to gain some clearance for turning.  Here's what I came up with....

Welded a bunch of the stuff on the dif together....

Some update pics of stuff in a more complete state....All that remains is some kind of front tube work/swaybar mount and remove the 3" body lift.  That'll bring it back down to the ride height I am looking for....

Table is 4x8.   Too big for me really.  Thinking of cutting it down.  Just gotta wait and see what I need to cut for my own Jeep after this winters mods.  Might need more than 4x4 for some of it.

What are you charging per inch of cut for 3/16 and 1/4 mild steel? Are you out of Cal or Red Deer?

Sylvan Lake

Do you have drawings?  Really just using it to cut my own line of fab parts.  But maybe we can work something out if you are in need.

I've been looking into cad programs. For now I've been making  templates and transfering to steel then using a Plasma cutter to cut out stuff,by hand with straight edges and different radius plugs. Is there a specific program that your cutter uses?

i'm partial to the orange, but that looks really sweet, I do really like the diamond plate inside the wheel wheels gives it a very clean look.
