On March 14th there is a open run scheduled anyone with a Jeep can come. I would like to know who is interested in coming on it?
Please do not fill the thread with, “Im not coming because…”.
We would like to know who is in.
Thank You
-
I'm in
-
Details on the run please?
-
Yeah, I'll go. Should be good times! Maybe we could have an early start and a bit more time on the trail?
-
We have nothing set in stone yet. Because there is only one open place right now in the Calgary area it will probably be North West of Cochran in the normal area.
-
The plane so far is to meet at Smittys for bacon at 0830 and leave at 0930 on the trail by 01000. For the trail we will see who want to go where and go from their.
-
I will be there if work allows. My crystal isn't currently clear enough to see that far. :(
-
I forgot to put the requirements in.
MT or AT tiers. No street or bald tiers (we are in snow)
CB radio, channel 10 working (no FRS)
Front and Rear tow points
Food, Water. I don’t plane on having a fire (doesn’t mean we will not have one just don’t plane on it)
winter clothing
-
A/T tires are good?
-
im there
-
AT's are in
-
i could be in but i have no CB, i don't think i've wheeled with you guys befor

-
NEED a CB. Road King... $80.
-
i'll look into it
thxx
-
Looks very likely for me - with the tired old proviso about whether it's suitable for a pant pissing novice on 31's. I'll try not to polish off all the hills to maximum mirror effect for those behind me this time.
-
"Trevor, why are you sliding backwards? umm Trevor, can u stop going backwards? trever, i don't have anymore room to reverse. umm, there is a big line of jeeps behind me trevor. Trevor? Trevor! TREVOR!......... whew. ok, so are you gonna like, gunn it now?'
yay winter wheeling and slight, icy inclines haha
ive got nothing better to do. i'll be there. maybe in the WJ

Air those tires down this time 15psi to 18psi and you will keep up with those xjs just fine ;)
And drive it like you stole it going up the hills ;D
-
2wd and backwords :)
Aaron, the WJ don't have 2wd...................... :D
i'll toss the hooks on it, and maybe a CB. to be honest i'd love to see it on those icy hills hehe. knowing my luck i'd break it tho...........
better bring the YJ :D

John keep me posted if you are going, is this open to non jeeps?
I have all the above requirments....
-
I sure hope the wifey lets me out,.. we are moving that week to the NW
-
I'm in, just have to tune my cb antenna first...
-
is this open to non jeeps?
anyone with a Jeep can come.
;)
-
y cant other 4x4 come like toyoa's chevy's ford's and so on y do you always need a jeep to wheel with the club i just dont get it we should all work together thats just me 2 cents
-
i second that, a engines an engine, a axles an axle, tires r tires and a trucks a truck so a 4x4x is a 4x4, wether its a jeep or not, lets all be friends :) lets forget machinical racism
-
If you have something other then a Jeep PM me first for this run.
We do work and wheel together. But you don’t see me trying to join the Nissan or Toyota club with my Jeep do you.
-
CJA = Calgary JEEP Association
There's all kinds of different 4x4 organizations you can do runs with as well, you just need to frequent their websites and find out about them.
And Waytec is right....on the same line of thinking, I have a 1948 CJ2A Willys Jeep, but I'm not going to go ask the Landrover Association why I can't be in their antique show and shine (whether there is one or not is irrelevant). ;)
-
you two have exsilint pionts i just thought we could revelutioniz the world together the other sites dont wheel barley at all, that s all. i use to go out with the others but they dont go out much at all and figure the passionate ones could hang out with us instead of sitting home. sorry bout the spellin, i dont no how
-
holy crap... that was painful to read. Please use spell check... it will help. Thx...
As of who can come on a run... it up to the trail leader.
That would be Waytec...
Back to the topic boys and girls ... who's coming on the 14th :D
-
well i was just thinking of a new members run we could add an all makes and moldes 4x4 run......... we could contact all the other sites and mabey meet for a great run of all i think that could be a start to something great as in we could all work together to gane are trails back and convert to a massive 4x4 entheusiest club instead of being all different we could all join as one club and be strounger better faster
i just think we could get more done if all the different clubs work together sry for geting off topic but i had to say somthing just let me know what you think.......................
sry again for getting off topic...
-
sry again but as well we could make our show and shin for all 4x4 and not just jeeps someone has to make the first move and i think it should be us because we are the biggest club am i not right
-
I have posted on the Pack Rats (Red Deer) and NA4DWA (Edmonton)
Who is coming?
We do not need to know about all the pepole that are not coming.
-

So this one is an open run for jeeps only. Thats Ok it gives non members with jeeps a chance to come out to a jeep only event. There will be other runs with other clubs. I was invited out last month to wheel with the Land Crusers Club and I was invited to thier January meeting to share info on trail projects. The clubs are woking together. Examples of this: last years bridge; several of this years planed trail projects; the Trail Survey group; The Bow River Stewarship Commity; The quad briges we have helped build in the last two years. Even the ACE event is mixed for short wheel base 4x4s of many brands. The clubs are comunicating and working together. We don't have to change the Jeep Club or this run to get that started. It allready has. If any of the readers want to be invloved in a multi club effort to improve the trails, plan on taking the weekend long training the first of May. Dom posted all about it a few days ago. There will be representitives of not just different 4x4 but bikes, quads and we hope other user groups. A multi club run is alredy planed up north this year ( ACE ).

im in for the 14th
-
;)
LOL, thats all I needed, sorry to cause the drama. :P
The JEEP club is for JEEPS ;) I would never try and join it Haha, I just wanted to try and trick John into having to follow me through some hard stuff to see if his jeep could keep up. ;D
-
....follow me through some hard stuff to see if his jeep could keep up. ;D
Nice,.. but it's not about keeping up,.. it's about staying up - upright,..when you travel with your peers (ie: other jeeps), the likely hood of having a good time increases, and if jeep related problems arise,.. there's bound to be someone who can help ;) - great theory "safety in numbers"
I'm still on the fence guys,.. been packing all evening
hopefully if I've packed the whole house,.. I may come.
-
Here is the law. If you don’t like it, stop complaining and lead your own run.
Open run to members, non members and potential members Of the Calgary JEEP Association.
If you have a Jeep show please come. If you do not have a Jeep and wish to join us PM me first. I have my reasons and don’t have to discus them here. Phill is in if he wishes to join us.
You must have:
CB (no FRS)
Front and rear tow points, with your own tow strap.
Good MT or AT tiers. Bald and street tiers are going home.
Your rig must be in good mechanical form.
Your own food, water and warm clothing. I am not your mother.
I was out their today and the snow is deep in places and pulls you in. There is also lots of ice in places. The hills are step but we all made it.

'trick'? hahaha, you know i'll follow you buddy, up snowy hills, down quad trails and into fallen trees where ARBs seem to disengage, where winches roam without the need of a controller hahaha
Aaron, (commanche runner) its a nice idea to try and get a bunch of people together on a trail ride but a comglomerate of all types of wheelers would just take FOREVER to get down a trail. especially snow/icy trails, and i don't wanna wait around for 25 vehicles to cruise up an icy incline or watchpeople dink around in ruts and stuff with 10 jeeps/trucks waiting. gets on peoples nerves.
plus look how hard it is to coordinate one open run; to do it with many others would just multiply the difficulty of such a feat.
ps.... if you have buddies with other vehicles, nothing is stopping you guys from going out wheelin without the club

-
if anyone wants to participate with a club that isnt designated to just one brand of vehicle then I suggest you check out the 4 Wheel Stampeders in calgary.
http://www.fourwheelstampeders.ca/
google it. they're a club, doesnt matter what you drive.... I swear I even saw Gunther pulling around a fricken KIA.... oh god. that is why I am in a Jeep club.
-
You have bad eyes That was an Ikea and assembly was required.
You guys do a fine job of hijacking a thread. :P
-
I might be in. Have to confirm I've got no commitments that day. Had a good time sliding around the hills the last time I went out. Tires will be at 8-10 PSI once again.
-
Ahh Phill, the days were some much simpler when the Jeep club consisted of three Jeep TJs, 1 F150 and a Tacoma ;)
Back to your regular scheduled drama-fest,
-
I think I may try to make it into Calgary this weekend. If I do then I will plan on coming with you guys. I will try to convince a few friends to join us as well. I will be driving my green beast: '03 Rubicon with AEV Highline hood and fenders, 35" BFG Mud terrains as well as most other required equipment.
-
Hey Blaire and Dom... are you guys going this weekend. Haven't seen let alone wheeled with you guys for a couple of years now. Would really like to see you guys out as most of the guys that have responded to this thread I've never wheeled with before. I'm sure that they are all more than competant, but would love to catch up with you guys!

Sorry, I have family stuff that weekend busy with the kids. Hope to see you on the trail soon. I think Dom's jeep is down for repair. Try to make one one of the meetings. Good to hear from you.
Blair

Sorry to hear you won't be out this weekend Blair, but family first. As for the meetings... they are a bit hard to make on time these days now that I am in Brooks. Perhaps with spring breakup drawing near I will be able to slip away from work early for a meeting or two. Dom, I always have a seat free if you are interested. I know how it is sometimes when the Jeep is outta commission for a while.
-
Phils truck is more jeep then half the newbies that go on these runs anyways. ;)
He has flat fenders and big poison spyder sticker. :):)
-
sorry guys
I'm out, kiids have a bday party to attend this sat. that takes precedence. over my joffroad joy, besides, i dicovered this morning the clutch slave is losing fluid :(
-
I might be able to go; pending water pump, front driver tow hook and random suspension clunking repairs. :)
