Title: Xj rear bumper w sotc
Post by: KrossLoch Fab on May 11, 2009, 02:33:19 PM
So, building the Xj rear bumper with sotc. Want opinions, please give feedback.
Would you rather a plate bumper, which seem to be the most common. Or a tubing bumper(as in multiple round 1 3/4' tubes) design?
For swing outs; angled to the hatch/window line, or staright up and down? Side swing out, so the tire is offset, or centre mounted?
I really want to tackle a full round tube design, but I would like opinions.
Thanks

Jimmy-cracked-corn....

As long as it has high clearance, and won't fall off the back into the muck in Fisher East.
I have only seen 1 tube type SOTC, it looked pretty nice.

my $0.02

I want a plat design with the tier offset to the pass side (would perfer drivers side but the tier and my fat arse the jeep would flip on it side driving down the road)
the ability to mount one or two Jerry cans.
two tow pints
I place Incorporated in the bumper to mount a winch of the M-8000 size.
Also a trailer hitch built in.
the mounting system must go back into the sub frame of it will be riper off.
I will be at your shop on Saturday to pick it up.  ;D

if you wish PM me your number and I will call you and discus this. I have put a lot of thought and research into this and no one out their makes anything even close.

Also for another selling point the ability to have two tiers on the rack. You would probally have to go to a double swing out design.
I am on a sight that is Overlanding based and their is a lot of XJs on their. these guys would love a bauble swing out that can hold two tiers. 33's or smaller.
