The Calgary Jeep Association is pleased to introduce the Advanced Recovery and Trail Techniques Course.

This is a one day course that will familiarize individuals with self and assisted recovery of your vehicle and techniques that are useful to have on the trail and road.

Date : July 24th and 25th 2010

The number of participants is limited to 20 vehicles

Entry fee: Donation to the Calgary Jeep Association Trail Fund.
       
**The trail fund is used to build and maintain the local OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) trail system in order to insure that future generations can enjoy it. **

Vehicle Requirements to attend
•   Must be a Jeep Product that has off road capabilities
•   Must have up to date, Registration, Insurance and License plates  
•   Must have front and rear tow points properly secured to the vehicle
•   A proper seat belt for each passenger and driver
•   Must have min of 31 inch tires with  good quality tread (no worn out and bald tires please)
•   Must have a Front Winch that is functioning.
•   1 - tree saver
•   1 - recovery strap
•   3 - D- schakles 3/4" pin diameter
•   1 - set of work gloves.

Extra Equipment Suggestions (not required)
•   High Lift
•   Winch weight
•   different sizes/lengths of tree saver
•   10ft of Recovery Chain
•   Larger ratchet straps

Driver and Participants
•   The owner of the vehicle must be present
•   The driver must have a valid driver’s license
•   All non CJA members must sight a liability waver

The Course will be held within the McLean Creek Off Road Recreation Area.  

We will be meeting at 8:30am at the McLean Creek store for check in.  At 9am we will travel to the gravel pit as a group where we will hold the learning sessions.  

The participants Jeeps will be used for the demonstrations and practice portions. Please be familiar with your winch controls and locations of your recovery gear.

I have been asked registration for non members is working.

Please send me your info and I am keeping a non members list. As of July 1 if there is space I will start at the top of that list filling the spaces.

 If you become a member between now and then you will automatically switch to the members list as of the date you became a member.

Just saved me from rushing out to get a winch & plate. :)

Then again, I'll probably get it soon anyway LOL.

I won't rule it out a of right now. The group of us that organize Off road 101 and ARTT will be meeting in Jan, Feb to go over the 2 courses and we will discuss it agene.

Excellent!  Please let us know... I didn't get out to the 101 this year (first year I went wheeling) but now that I've been out a few times, it would be great to learn how to use the winch I'm putting on over the winter!!

Just go out with SpecialK, and Rubiclone... you'll learn how to use the winch in a quick hurry. :D

Coming from the guy that has not made it PC yet  ;)

One run down Jaunt and that will be all he winching and recovery you will need

That's OK. After the last run out their mine decided it did not want to go back this year and threw the cam threw the block.
