The annual post-long weekend clean up at McLean will happen on the May 29/30 weekend. We can use as many people as possible this weekend.

i'll probably be there as well, with the Dodge.... trucks and trailers are good things for cleanups; TJs don't do much in the hauling area!

maybe or maybe not! we'll see closer to the cleanup. it all depends on how much crap is left. there have been years where it was relatively clean, and we end up wheeling instead of cleaning, and theres others with truckloads of garbage cleared out.......

we'll break it down pretty simple i think once we get a little closer;
what i'm thinking for a basis, will be to meet up at the store whenever; we'll then split into groups, and run out to the hightraffic camping areas, off the top of my head, fish east, fish west, the gravelpit, the beaver dam and any other areas you can think of.
basically just gonna clean up garbage, campsites etc. nothing too crazy.
usual stuff to bring; garbage bags would be great! more the better, gloves, basic tools, etc. utility trailers are good too, i'll bring my dodge truck........
clean up all the garbage that i'm hoping isn't there, then if we get done in good time go for a trail ride or something!

I'm 100% for Saturday now, Sunday is a no go though.
So... Hypothetical question, if someone were to say not know what store specifically "the store" refers to as a meet up location could a link to a google map or something be added :P (haven't been to McLean Creek yet :) )

if you go past bragg creak you ll see a sign that says mclean creak this way ::)about 1-2 klms you ll see a store its also the mclean creek camp registration site ;)

im in for clean up. ill have my truck as well.
to underline what johnny has said, bring good gloves, good garbage bags, dress for the weather, and a good pair of boots. you'll be in and out of the vehicle and probably more time spent walking around then driving.
i might camp out there if the weather is peachy.

I would be interested to do a cleanup in Waiporous instead or in addition to Maclean. Anybody interested going to Waiporous after the maclean clean up and doing a clean up there as well ?

yup yup
9.30 at the store! divvy up into groups, and headout 10ish. we can figure on a meeting point afterwards. can figure that out saturday.
to bring:
good gloves
good footwear
warm/waterproof clothes
garbage bags if you have em
a good attitude. its gonna be chilly and wet!
most of the spots will be accessible by anything thats 4x4, so shouldn't be a problem. i've been told (someone confirm) that the ASRD garbage bins are still out there too?

Thanks Noel.. not sure what the heck I'm gonna do right now. I will probably focus on getting the TJ done and worry about the XJ after. Not sure if I should drop in a used motor (cheap and easy).. build a stroker (more $$ but more fun $$)... or drop all the suspension/axles etc into my 99.

I vote for the last option.... but then you'll have that same ol' dilemma.... be a dork and roll in the Wrangler? Or be Super cool and cruise in the XJ.... ;)
