Title: 101 shackle clarification
Post by: Waytec on June 14, 2010, 06:49:01 PM
Good day
I have to make a clarification. During the Off Road 101 I stated that if a shackle has its load rating stamped in it, it should not be used. It was brought to my attention that Warn has their info indented in the shackle. This is not stamped. The indentation is made during the casting of it.
If stamped, it will have very sharp edges. If cast the edges of the letters will be smooth. Have a look at it and use your own judgment.
Sorry about the confusion.
