All the Hams that are into HF are drooling I'm sure. I'm not sure it's the worst job... sewers are pretty nasty once commissioned and need repairing.

that would be a sweet BASE jump!
-
i climb towers here in canada 300 - 700 footers .. and safety is the only way you climb
these guys that are free climbing like that are brave mother F-ers
i wouldnt have an issue going to that height but i would be tied in every second of the way
and at that height i would bring a shute and jump at the end of the day i would jump our 300 footers out here if the WCB wouldnt have a fit

I was thinking the same thing....I would only free climb at that height if I had a parachute.....but even then, if you slip the chute won't save you if you're too close to the tower :o

Hell, that made me ill just watching... no safety... I would fall for sure - probably gets big bucks for that line of work.

Very ballsy.
Made me cringe just by watching it, I hate heights!!

I was amazed at how enthused buddy is.
I can imagine you'd be tired after that. An 84m windmill was enough for me.

This pic still freaks me out...

I just wish I hadn't found out a few years ago that those pics were actually staged. :(

LOL...I can think of many worse jobs (most of what is shown on Dirty Jobs comes to mind). That looks like a blast, although I have to agree that I'd be tied in every chance I could. Alot of those towers have a built in vertical life line that attaches to the harness and allows movement upwards without the need to tie or clip in every so often.
Here's a shot of one of the advanced high angle rescue classes I did a while ago. It was a blast. Only about 100' up and 75' from each side....upside down on a tandem high line setup. I'd do it again in a heart beat! :D
