Hi there all,
Richard here from the Four Wheel Stampeders. Plans have begun for the 2011 Toy Drive for Kids.... details are a bit slim at this time, but things are rolling!
Just thought I'd update the general public on our plans. I'll have more information after our next general meeting, but for now... I'd just like to know how Saturday December 10th works for everyone?
I will soon add all the details of this event... just need to get a little more preliminary planning out of the way.
Thanks for your support!

The guys and gals here at the CJA would be proud to help in anyway possible to make this year's Toy Run a success. Apeman( Aaron) and his girlfriend really stepped-up last year when the Four Wheel Stampeders couldn't pull the event off. We also had a lot of help from Gherra and CT4WD. I'll be in contact with Aaron and the president of CT4WD to see what we can do to make this year's Toy Run even better than last year.
Feel free to PM me for more contact info and details please.
Cheers,
Noel

Glad to see CJA on board again!
So how does that date work for everyone here? I know that one year I planned it on the same day as an annual CJA campout and there was some complaints about that. Any conflicts with the 10th?
-
Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help. I would be more than happy to have a collection bin in the shop!
Dave
-
As Noel indicated Jesse and I will be co-ordinating everything again this year. Thankfully we have the luxury of more time, and will get the details worked out by end of september. The date seems to work with us,but we would need final confirmation by november 1st.
Anyone wanting to pitch in cam pm me.
Thanks to everyone and other clubs doing their part also.
Aaron
-
Rich/Clay/Aaron - just keep me in the loop as to what date you settle on, and I'll make sure it ends up on the "official" CJA Calendar.
-
:D
-
Yes, December 10 weekend is usually our camping weekend. I believe we have an extra weekend in Dec this year so may be able to work around it. ill look into schedules.

Hi there... Looks to be Dec 10th Wins. If the Camping trip can be worked around that would be awesome, I hope this can work out.
I think you can post this to the calender as you had indicated.
I will supply the details as they are finalized.
Thanks everyone!

I will see if I can get a Best Buy store or two on board with this again this year. 10th should be fine for me.
-
I would love to attend this year... was fun last year. I'll try to get a box at my work if possible... just let me know if that would be ok.

That sounds pretty cool! Thanks!

Im sure I can also get bins set up at the 3 Memory Express locations here in Calgary as we did for the food drive. Should be no issue. For helping out, Ill be there if I get the day off. However asking for days off here in December is not easy... Being one of 3 managers during the Christmas season my time is stretched pretty tight through the week... Will help of course as I can :)

Look forward to the experience!

Word back from Richard (SmilinVamp) - he would like to know how many people to expect from the CJA to the event on Saturday the 10th. So far we have 14 on the vote counter. Please put your vote in if you plan on attending.
There is also a request to bring some electric griddles to the event. If you have one, please bring it along!

IMPORTANT EVENT ANOUNCMENTS;
Richard here from the Four Wheel Stampeders in Calgary.
I have some additional information about the Toy Run on Dec 10.
Westjet has graciously donated two airline tickets to our event. I believe we are going to have these available at the event for silent auction. Please bring cash if you wish to participate in the auction. Money generated from the auction of these tickets will be donated to the Mustard Seed.
Q107 FM Classic Rock Calgary has expressed an interest in helping us out. Their level of involvement is to be determined. I hope we can generate a lot of publicity with their help. The more people we can get to come by, the more Toy donations we will have.
Speaking of which:
Some very innovative businesses around Calgary have set up donation bins in their stores for us. So, for those who may not be able to attend the event, you may find a location nearest you to drop off a toy or two.
These locations are:
** Memory Express – 3 Locations –
The SE store is located at
120 - 58th Ave. S.E.
The NE store is located at
3333 - 34th Ave. N.E.
The NW store is located at
167-5005 Dalhousie Dr. NW (Dalhousie Station)
All toy donations will be accepted during our normal business hours. Monday to Friday from 9am - 9pm, Saturdays from 10am - 6pm and Sundays from 11am - 6pm
** BestBuy – 2 Locations - in Northland Mall, and West Hill
And of course don’t forget to decorate your Rig for the contest!
Thanks for your support, hope to see you on the 10th!

Hi there,
The Mustard Seed had specified in their letter - "age neutral and gender neutral" items... but I think that's a bit hard to follow.
I think they mean for example, board games, books, that sort of thing.... we will accept anything though.
Thanks for your inquiry!
-Richard

Richard,
I have finally heard back from my company (we deal with a lot of charities, so they are very behind this time of year) and are willing to donate!
I have sent you a PM with my contact info. Please give me call at your earliest convenience.
Thank you,
Kyle
-
I'll show up with the wife and bring some toys. Get to meet a few people.
This is a great cause.

Adds are up at Q107 and Country 105....

Hey there all!
Just some notes:
I'd like to give a big thanks to All that are donating to this cause! Awesome job so far, can't wait for the event this Saturday...
Just got a very kind donation from Sport Chek - about $1500 in sports equipment. Thanks Kyle for that one!
Please remember to bring your cash if you wish to bid on the 2 WestJet tickets... remember these are anywhere WestJet flies. Your Choice.
Auction Closes at 11:30 am - Dec 10th. (Proceeds go to the Mustard Seed)
Also, breakfast is only $2 - bring your appetite (food served while supplies last, kitchen closes 11:45am)
Coffee and Hot Chocolate are free
Decorating Contest - be sure to decorate your rig.... many prizes to be won! Judging is at 11:15am.
Thanks you all for your support... see you Saturday!
-
Id like to volunteer my time and donate a bunch of toys
See you all there
-
Here are the items I've picked up for the toy run on behalf of the CJA.
We got stuff from age 3 up to teens. Lots of games, toys, electronic keyboards and drums, and digital cameras. All electronics have batteries attached and the cameras have SD cards.
-
Incredible! Awesome, can't thank you guys enough! Support has been overwhelming.
I just had a bit of a chat with Rick at the Mustard Seed... they are very excited to receive such an overwhelming donation.
So far support for this year's Toy Drive has been phenomenal!
Can't wait to see what we can pull together tomorrow.
See you all at the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Hall at 10am.
Remember, we are in the Hearth Room.
Thanks to you all for you help and support!

Huge thanks to Richard a.k.a SmilinVamp and all those who made this event possible. This was my first year participating in any kind of charity event, and I couldn't be happier to have been apart of something so great. All the jeep guys and toyota guys really came together to help out the mustard seed in an "overwhelming" fashion. Thanks to Clay and his daughters for bearing the chilly morning and judging everyones decorated vehicles, a little friendly competition amongst fellow 4x4'ers and prizes always makes for a good time. I will post up pictures of the winner and runners up shortly, as well as a few other pics. Can't wait till next year and hopefully the parking lot will be filled with 4x4 s and not antiques shoppers!
Happy Holidays!

Great event for a great cause
Glad to be part of it and thanks Richard for organising it and thanks to all the people I met was a great group to be out there with

Hello Everyone,
Another Toy Run is complete. The Mustard Seed was both grateful and overwhelmed by the generosity of the four wheeler community. I am also once again proud of what we all put together.
I would like to thank all who participated. And I hope you all had a bit of fun despite some hick ups along the way.
A special thanks to all who volunteered their time to help my wife and I pull this all together. Without good volunteers these events would never be possible.
I’d also like to thank, everyone who donated prizes there were a lot this year. WestJet, Modern Motors, Novatel, Home Depot, and the Four Wheel Stampeders. Tim Horton's coffee - Donated to us by Dave at Foothills Timmy's.
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas, and a great New Year!
Thanks,
-Richard
