The 36mm axle shaft nut .. where it goes thru the unit bearing.
Is it the same for a TJ as a YJ ... 175ft/lbs ??
I don't have a TJ manual handy .. but the YJ one says 175ft/lbs
thanks

My 2003 FSM says 175 ft-lbs for the axle nut.

Thanks Vin .. I thought as much but wanted to be sure.
It seemed 10 times as hard to undo as it was to torque back up .. I'll double check the wrench ..

The odd one gets seized up a bit after a while. Most of them dont live long enough to get to that point, but the odd one does :D :D

Hey Bill .. I had to use a 4 foot breaker bar to bust this loose. The bearing had managed to last 5 years .. maybe the last few months in this state. It had a huge amount of play in it .. guess the PO didn't feel the play in the wheel, or hear the noise coming from the u/j.
