Ok, so I have been looking and can not seem to find a solid recommendation on what tools and parts I should carry in my Jeep when wheeling. I have seen a few lists that involve welders, full tool sets, jack stands, but I am looking for a small basic set. I am not a mechanic, but a handy guy who grew up working on my own junk and I am looking to get out of a bind if something goes wrong. I have a reasonably new JK, and primarily I wheel in and around Alberta for a day or a weekend. I am not going full overland gon into the wilds of Africa for six weeks at a time.
Below is the list I have started and was wondering what people thought and may add or remove from it.
Tools:
Metric Wrenches
Imperial Wrenches
3/8 Socket Set (Small Mastercraft Set Metric and Imperial)
Hammer
Pry Bar
Vise Grips
Multi Screw Driver
Test Light
Tire Deflator
Air Pump
Hi-Lift
Spares and Stuff:
Oil - 2L
ATF - 2L
Brake Fluid - 1 Bottel
Tire Plugs
Spare Valve Stem Cores
WD40
Zip Ties
Bailing Wire
Duct Tape
Electrical Tape
Spare Fuses
Throw in your recovery gear, jerry can of gas, wife, kid, Water, some camping or picnic stuff, and you end up with a pretty full jeep.
What am I missing and or what recommendations does anyone have?

Seems pretty good... add a first aid kit and a fire extinguisher and I wouldn’t worry too much.

What about throwing in some work gloves.

And you’re going to want to add a couple liters of gear oil to your fluids inventory.

I do have a first aid kit but should get a fire extinguisher.

jerry can of gas - for a day trip, maybe not?
wife - optional
kid - YES
Water - YES
some camping or picnic stuff - for an overnighter yes, daytrip no
first aid kit and a fire extinguisher HELLS YES
Tire Plugs - sure, but you should have a spare
Spare Valve Stem Cores - YES
WD40 - for what? It is NOT a lubricant
Zip Ties - YES
Bailing Wire - Yes (haven't used mine)
Duct Tape - Yes (never used mine)
Electrical Tape - YES
Spare Fuses - sure because they are small
Metric Wrenches - the common ones
Imperial Wrenches - the common ones

Hammer - sure
Pry Bar - not needed.... big arse flathead will do the same and get into tighter places
Vise Grips - yup
Multi Screw Driver - YES
Test Light - or a meter (it will do more)
Tire Deflator - YES
Air Pump - YES
As far as extra fluids, ask yourself why. Why do I need extra gear oil? Because I peeled up the diff cover. Are you going to get it sealed again? Probably not.... no extra fluid needed.

You need extra gear oil for when you lunch the spider gears in the read diff of your YJ on Fisher West, and two guys crawl under your rig, remove the fragments from your rear diff, slap a cover back on, and send you home in 2WD.

Only bring tools and supplies you know how to use.

WD40 - for what? It is NOT a lubricant
I use WD-40 to clean all the grease off my hands: Spray, Rub in, Wash out. Sure it's probably not the best for me or my hands but i had a promo bottle just sitting there and it's really the only thing i use it for...

I’ve heard that if you spray your inner fender wells and what ever else you feel like with WD-40 before hitting the muddy trail it will allow you to clean it up afterwards for only $14 at the car wash instead of $28…
Of course, you’ll spend the $14 you saved washing off the WD40 afterwards. ;D

I've also heard that if you're grandma's sofa is covered with plastic that means that.....never mind.
