Title: Why are shackles so expensive?

I mean, what the hell? Almost $50 for a pair of non-greasables? I think I'll spend the 10 bucks on new poly bushings and make my own. Any tips? 1/4" steel bar sound right? I'll be staying stock length, no more than 1" longer if I have enough material.

I would recommend 3/8" thick, I prefer to go beefier, and I wouldn't go much more than an 1" longer without welding in a gusset.

When in doubt, build it stout.
