Title: TJ Dana 44 upgrade questions
Post by: dac on November 23, 2007, 03:11:49 PM
Does anyone know if the stock rear drive shaft for the D35 on an 02 TJ will work with a factory replacement D44?

I'm planning on slapping on some 285/75R16's in the future and don't trust the D35.

if you're going to go to the trouble of putting a dana 44 in, go all the way and do a slip yoke eliminator kit. this will get rid of the slip yoke that slides into your t/case, and puts the slip in the driveshaft. use a dual cardan as well and now more driveline vibes when its lifted.
im almost 100% certain the yoke on a dana 44 is a 1310 style u-joint, while the dana 35c is smaller. i could be wrong. just my thoughts on it.

your Dana 35 DS will be too long. The dana 35 has a shorter pinion. Do a SYE.
