Did you replace the starter because of a no start condition?  In other words did the old starter work from time to time or did it stop starting and you replaced the starter thinking that was the problem?

I would check
- starter itself (Try jumping/hotwiring the starter... if it starts... its not the starter)
- battery cables (do the dash lights dim right down when you turn the key.. if so ... you may have a battery problem)
- neutral safety switch (sometimes you can fudge this by pushing slightly on the gear lever while you try to start... if that works... you have bad switch)
- key switch (I have a 95 with a bad switch... if you jiggle the colum wires around it will start at times)

I know what  you mean about being fumed at the jeep... at least once in a project I swear I'm going to push mine into the alley and burn it.  Keep patient and work your way through things logically and you'll get it figured out.

Well great news the jeep is running again.  just had to work on the ground for the starter now she fires up all the time :D and my oil pressure problem seems to be gone :D
