T-Max winches

I've read complaints plastic pieces in the engage level on some china models - no info on which ones ...

I've used a warn mx8000 for a long long time,  broke two cables but the winch hasnt let me down, even
pinched the remote wire cabling in and was able to hot wire it to get unstuck - warn shipped me a kit to
fix remote ...

tip - not sure how you secure your winch but lots get stolen,  especially if it can just be unbolted ,  I had
my nut ends torched just a tad so they have to cut it off ... hopefully I never have todo it but it could deter
the quickie theft ...

Thanks for that one, I was getting around to looking into anti-theft methods.

Australian company doesn't mean made in Australia. They are made in china, just like warns Tabor line, mile markers electrics, champions, and everyother budget brand winch out there.

True, I had never assumed Tmax was made in OZ, I am wondering if Tmax holds their manufacturer to a higher level of quality based on the fact that they have such a huge following down under. (I like to give them a chance until proven either way)

Used my good old costco winch prob about 20 times and a 1/4 of them were hard muskeg pulls.
Like BlackYj said.  They are as slow as molasses in january, But it's never let me down.
For my next winch I will go with a warn tho, but that's for when I can affoard it lol

Sounds like you had your mind made up before you asked anyways. So go buy one and find out for yourself.

Here is a link on chinese built winches and how the QC you referred to works. And yes, Im sure T-max selects a higher QC then some distributers.
