Nope.  Not a chance, unless they want to put a different diesel into it.  Check out the VW Jetta issues in 2007:

So unless they redesign it to fit into our standards (designed to crush those dirty, smelly, and oh-so-untreehuggable diesels), we won't see it.

In the rest of the world....the Nissan Patrol is seen by most as the most durable general purpose 4WD you can buy today.
