NP435 clutch master cylinder mounting
« on: January 17, 2010, 08:52:30 PM »
Just wondering if any body has installed a np435 tranny with hydraulic clutch. I have installed one in a CJ7 that previously had  mechanical clutch linkage. I see cutouts in the firewall for a master cylinder, but was wondering what kind of mods need to be done to the actuator rod and will there be enough stroke to disengage the clutch? Any thoughts?

I bought a hydraulic slave kit from NOVAK for my T18A swap in my YJ. They had just come out with a kit for AMC bellhousings when I was trying to figure out how I was going to do it. I am assuming that you are running a Ford 435 with an AMC b/h, correct?

I haven't completed the YJ to test it out, but I don't see any problems.

Novak was great to deal with as well and their tech guys were very helpful. They had prompt responses to my questions. I was not impressed with Advanced Adapters as I have not heard back from them since I sent them a couple questions approximately 6 months or more ago.

I'm running a 302 fuelie with the Ford bell housing. Tranny side is ok, it's mating it with the clutch pedal. I just might have to do it by trial and error. I only wanted to cut one hole in the firewall. :-\

i was lookin into a similar issue. advance adapters does have the proper master, slave, and hose. you just have to find the right part # on their website or ask them directly. id say novak would do the same just as well or better. both companies seem to supply good products.

Thanks, I used Novak for the transfer case adapter and they were great. I'll check their website and see what they offer for a master cylinder.
