dont know what to do first

I dont know what I want to do first, thought maybe id throw out a poll and see what other ppl would do first in my predicament. Pushing 34" rubber with D30&35. Cash is tight.

- change gear ratio from 3.05 to something lower,

- put a cheap locker in the front (to match the rear), and look for better axles for changing gears and locking later,

- or do gears and lockers and keep the axle combo till I can afford bigger and better down the road (year or more)

- save my peanuts over the next year or 2 for building a better combo later

** where the hell did the poll option go??**

I think there are enough "show" jeeps already, where tire size seems to be the biggest concern.

I say wait til you can afford to put them under something wortwhile.

i would drop the cheap locker in the front and wheel it.
or bust out the credit card and do it all now....... pay it off over the next year

personally i'd drop in the cheap locker and wheel it. hopefully it holds together till ur ready to swap...........................   I just charged it ;)

i am already pushing the 34's. and no, if youve seen my jeep, and know me, youd know im not about cosmetics. I am so under geared right now its fricken rediculous. but at the same time, im not getting traction in 4x in the front open diff... so i dont know whether gearing is a bigger advantage than up front traction... if i dump a cheap locker in for now, then i'd have to ditch it later to regear, or ditch the gears and locker later to get a dependable diff in the rear w/ proper gearing (5.13+)... or wheel it now with sh*t gears and no front traction till i get new f&r diffs... which might take some time, and more time is less fun.

i know this is more a personal choice, but i everything is vetoing everything to me, so i thought id throw it to the jeep masses and maybe get something to tip me into one direction or another... might even do something completely different, but it's just talk over a campfire and some beers.  :P just shooting the sh*t.

then im gonna say re-gear it. if the rear is locked then wait for the front one and re-gear now. 4.56 gears would work well if you got the 4.0L.  icant remember which engine you have Hansel. ive been wheeling a long time on a 30/35 combo. dont go nuts with the stupid pedal and they will survive. carry spare axles though, lol! re-gearing isnt that expensive. do you still work at that auto shop? someone there should be able to help you out. the lower gears will do a lot for you on our trails. lockers are nice, but if you are allready locked in the rear then the gears will help a lot.

cool, but if i was to regear, id have to ditch the locker because the rear case would need to come out for anything lower than what i gots. and no i dont work at the shop no more... i guess that'll show me to mock the economy. another layoff.
