Hey guys! So I was driving to a co-workers house tonight (my 1990 YJ, 4.2l, 5spd) and I went through their back-alley, and when I came onto the street, I guess I let the clutch out too hard and when it went from dirt to pavement, there was a HUGE clunk. My roommates and I were driving home on Deerfoot tonight and the entire way there was an intense clunking sound, especially when turning the wheel slightly to the left. It's only when the engine is under load does it clunk, never when I'm coasting. I put it in 4wd to take some of the pressure off the rear axle, hoping it would make a difference, which it did, but only slightly. The clunks weren't nearly as hard hitting, and were fewer of them. I'm not sure if this is a transmission problem, or a rear axle, but I need to get this fixed ASAP as this is my daily driver!
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated!
Jeff
(Pretty happy I didn't take this out to Wiprous for my camping trip!)
