TJ fog lights won't shut off
« on: July 14, 2009, 08:23:15 AM »
I was out in BC on a trip and my fog lights won't shut off.  Everything is OK, if I remove the battery lead they go out for a while ... but they eventually come back on when you connect the battery lead.  They do not shut off if you turn off the key either so you have to pull the battery lead.  Has anyone had this problem, and do you think it might be related to the daytime running light module?

Any tips would be appreciated
thanks ross

My 2001 has a bad stock switch. I now have aftermarket fog lights with a togle switch. The dash light still comes on showing  fog lights are on even though they have been removed from the jeep.  Dash light does not use enough power to be an issue.

I checked the stock switch and it turns the lights on/off if  I fidget with it, anyone know if it is it hard to replace either the stock switch - or the signal lightlever?

thanks

You have to change out the whole mutli switch. I have the same problem and talked to the guy at the dealership $140 for a new one from them. Plug and play technology. Should be easy fix.
