HowTo? Homemade handthrottle.

Does anyone know how I could make a hand throttle from parts found at princess auto for less than the couple hundred bucks that a pre made system would cost?

I'm using an old 10-speed bicycle gear shifter - the thumb lever
3.9 CTD - 7000R4  NP241c SSYE, Dana 44.  9 inch, 4.10's  and 37's

hook it into where the cruise cable goes on the throttle arm
